Discover Downtown Elizabeth City Promotion
August 31, 2007
The Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau has joined with the Downtown Business & Professional Association in the first-ever co-operative advertising campaign designed to attract visitors to Elizabeth City. The base commercials emphasize the area’s attractions, such as the Museum of the Albemarle, Port Discover, the beautiful waterfront, and historic walking tours, while the 10-second tags for the participating merchants highlight their businesses in Elizabeth City.
Participating DBPA members include: Pasquotank Arts Council, the Museum of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City Bed & Breakfast, The Framery, Port Discover, Overman & Stevenson Pharmacists, Portfolio Real Estate, Jo Von Fashions, Embarq, Elizabeth City Chamber of Commerce, NetWorkz, City Wine Sellar, Bakery, Deli & Wine Bar, the annual Ghost Walk, and the Albemarle Craftsman’s Fair.
The campaign will run in Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 on five strong local stations: WCXL-FM, WERX-FM, WKJX-FM, WFMI-FM, and WFMZ-FM. The fall campaign will kick off the week of September 10th and run through the week of October 22nd, ending with spots for the annual Ghost Walk and the Albemarle Craftsman’s Fair. The Spring 2008 flight is scheduled to begin the week of April 14th and run through the week of May 19th.
In addition to the radio spots, the campaign includes a remote for the Elizabeth City Block Party on WFMI-FM and another remote on WFMZ-FM. Banner ads will appear on the radio station websites, and an ad featuring the DBPA participants will appear in the local publication Protecting Our Children.
